ANTHONY J. LEPORE
Anthony J. Lepore, a Buchanan resident since 1996, died Monday at Westchester Medical Center. He was 76. He was a retired Test Engineer for IBM in Poughkeepsie, working there for 32 years before retiring in 1987. Anthony was born in Peekskill on May 7, 1930, the son of Giovanni and Maria Rosaria Pecorelli Lepore. He graduated from Peekskill High School in 1948. Tony proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Era. On September 6, 1953, he married Mary DiCola at Church of the Assumption. The couple moved to Wappingers Falls, where they lived until 1996. Mary survives, and resides in Buchanan. He loved woodworking and playing golf. He was also very dedicated to his family and his religion, both of which ranked second to none. Anthony was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Wappingers Falls. He was also a Parishioner at St. Christopher's Church. Besides his wife, he leaves his brothers, Mario and Nunzio Lepore, of Peekskill, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, beloved friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank S. Lepore and John J. Lepore. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, at 10 AM, at St. Christopher's Church. POUGHKEEPSIE Donald Catucci, 88, of the City of Poughkeepsie, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Catucci, who lived in Poughkeepsie for his entire life, was born on March 18, 1920, on a ship en route from Bari, Italy to Boston. He was a communicant and usher at Holy Trinity Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree, Chapter 1646 Wappingers Falls and other prayer groups and local rightto-life organizations. He retired in 1982, after 39 years service, from the Wappingers Falls School District, where he was the Food Service Director. The son of the late Giacomo Catucci and Maddalena Surico Catucci, he leaves behind four siblings: Frank Catucci of Clinton Corners, N.Y., James Catucci of Margaretville, N.Y., Isabel Sciacca of Poughkeepsie and Lillian Allers of Poughkeepsie. His other siblings, Paul Catucci, Erminia Catucci Gahan and John Catucci, passed away before him. He was the devoted father to Elizabeth and her husband, Howard Halstead of Poughkeepsie, Madalena and her husband, George Bator of Thornwood, N.Y., Kathryn Sherfinski of Federal Way, W.A. and Giacomo Catucci of Providence, R.I. Emily Orton Catucci Moran, who later passed away while living in Gardner, N.Y., was his wife from 1945 to 1963. He leaves 14 grandchildren, Christine Dick of Connelly, N.Y., Carol Ahmed of Newark, D.E, Charles Halstead of Barrington, N.H., Colleen Riley of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Kim Tota of Clinton, N.J., Kristin Traina of Hartsdale, N.Y., Christopher Catucci of Warwick, R.I., Giacomo R. Catucci of Munich, Germany Michael Sherfinski of Tualatin, O.R., Jennifer Sherfinski of Warwick, R.I., Nick Catucci of Brooklyn, N.Y., Lindsay Bussoli of Boise, I.A., Nathan Sherfinski of Portland and Daniel Catucci of Brooklyn, N.Y. He also leaves 12 great-grandchildren. He was married to Sonia Edmunds Catucci from 1981 until her death in 2006, and leaves four stepchildren, David Edmunds of Poughkeepsie N.Y., Judy Pells of Wirtz, V.A., Heidi Maloney of Ruby, N.Y. and Mary McGill of Nashville, T.N. as well as 10 step-grandchildren. Rev. Robert J. Brennan. Born May 3, 1923. Ordained June 4, 1949. Died June 1 2008. Reverend Brennnan was a 58 year member of the Knights of Columbus. He was known for alsways helping out where ever he could. Being assigned to parishes in the area, Chaplain of Ancient Order of Hibernians, helping out the Sisters at different locations, and so on. He ended up living at St. Lawrence Friary in Beacon NY. This is where his wake and funeral were held.

TAFTON, PA - The family of Frances Bridget Lawlor is saddened to announce the death of their mother on Sunday, May 25, 2008. She passed away peacefully in her sleep and sits in comfort and joy next to the Heavenly Father with those who preceded her in death; her husband Henry, her son John, her brother John Joseph and her mother and father, Margaret and Thomas. Daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Connor, she was born on September 26, 1941 in Yonkers. She married the love of her life, Henry J. Lawlor on April 20, 1963 at St. John's Church in the Bronx; he preceded her in death, passing on October 7, 2005. Mrs. Lawlor retired from the Wappingers Central School District in October 2003. While there, she acted as a representative for their transportation union. She loved the time she spent with her family, especially enjoying her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. Frances was also a member of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE Donald P. McManus, Sr. of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was 80. Son of the late Patrick and Mary Grimes McManus, he was born on March 23, 1928 in St. Albans, Long Island. He married the love of his life, Gertrude DeMatteo on July 2, 1955 in Poughkeepsie; Mrs. McManus survives at home. Mr. McManus proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He went on to work for New York Telephone as a Right of Way agent; he remained there for 37 years until his retirement. Donald also belonged to many local organizations such as the Knights of Columbus, Elks BPOE and VFW, all of Wappingers Falls, and the Clove Mountain Archers. In his spare time he loved to hunt and golf. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family; they never left his side, staying with him right until the end. In addition to his wife, Gertrude, he is survived by his son, Donald P. McManus, Jr. of Poughkeepsie; daughters, Colleen McManus-Sarubbi and her husband, Joseph Sarubbi of East Greenbush, and Kathleen A. Alexander Joseph Benedetto
RIO RANCHO, NM - Alexander Joseph Benedetto, 85, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM since 1970, passed away after a short illness on March 5, 2007 with his family at his side. Born in Wappingers Falls, NY, he was the son of Alexander Benedetto and Marietta Ciarfella. Known to his family as "Sandre" or "Hawk" and "Al" to his friends, he was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Al was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a police officer and past Fire Chief in Wappingers Falls, NY before relocating to NM. He was with the Sandoval County Sheriff's Dept. in the 1970's, and began his own landscaping business in Rio Rancho. He was the first Commander of VFW Post 5890. Al is survived by his wife of 47 years, Diane Benedetto; children, R. Alan Liccione and wife Chang, Cheryl Liccione-Doody and husband, Bill, Glenn Benedetto and wife Teri, Todd Benedetto and wife Cheryl, all of Rio Rancho, NM, Jill McBride and husband Stuart of Albuquerque, NM and Craig Benedetto and wife Chris of Chandler, AZ. John C. Luber
POUGHKEEPSIE John C. Luber, 75, of Poughkeepsie, closed the final chapter of a story rich with love, family and quiet success at his home on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. Son of the late John C. and Elizabeth Voekl Luber, Sr. he was born at home in the Bronx on November 19, 1932. John is a 1950 graduate of Regis High School, in Manhattan. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1954 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. John went on to work for General Electric and it was while working there that he graduated from Yale University with a M.S. in Industrial Management. Later in life he also graduated from Iona College with a B.S. in Family Counseling. John is survived by his wife of eight years, Bernadette Barrett Luber and her three children, Christen Barrett; Bernadette Brooks and her husband, Robert; and Gregory Barrett and his wife, Margaret. He also leaves his children from his wife, Patricia Dempsey Luber who preceded him in death in 1983; John C. Luber, III and his wife, Eileen; Bruce Luber and his wife, Carol; Ann Dombroski and her husband, Tom; Mary Pat Luber Green and her husband, George; and Peter Luber and his wife, Lisa. He also leaves six children whom chose to call him father during and beyond his marriage to their mother, Malvina Mattiello Luber who preceded him in death in 1994; Larry Mattiello; Arthur Mattiello and his wife, Linda; Rosemary Mancino and her husband, Angelo; Richard Mattiello and his wife, Debbie; Vivian LaColla and her husband, Rob; and Malvina Ricci and her husband, Remo. His family also includes thirty-one grandchildren, Bryanne, Donovan, McKenna, Danielle, Kevin, Mathew, Teresa, who preceded him in death in 1993, Jennifer, Jonathan, Melissa, Katie, John, IV, Nicole, Nicholas, Kenny, T.J., David, Robbie, Taryn, Matthew, Michael, Alicia, Nicholas, Michael, Joey, Danny, Dominic, Noelle, Remo, Jaclyn and Lauren. He also leaves two sisters, Elizabeth Maglione and her husband, John, Joan Luber and Katherine English, his cousin and several nieces and nephews. Though a family of this size is legacy enough, John also touched the lives of many couples during his years as a family counselor. He practiced Family Counseling after retiring from his management position at IBM's manufacturing division and helped establish their school in Thornwood, Westchester. Previously, John and his wife, Pat, were instrumental in spreading the Marriage Encounter movement in the 1970's as well as helping establish Engaged Encounter in Dutchess County. Both groups have helped many happy couples find true depth in their relationships. His strong belief in the sanctity of marriage provided a living example to couples seeking to understand and strengthen their relationships. John was a communicant at St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls where he served as a lector and was active in the RCIA program. In addition, he was a member of the Cursillo Community and also served on the Residents Encounter Christ prison weekends. Though the list of accomplishments could continue, John will be remembered fondly and forever as a man of great faith, love, and real compassion. Henry P. Mucci
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Henry P. Mucci, 79, a lifelong resident of Wappingers Falls, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at home. Mr. Mucci was a physical therapist for 35 years at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh and he was also department head , retiring in 1989. Mr. Mucci was a member of Wappingers Council #1646 Knights of Columbus Crum Elbow Gun Club; So. Dutchess Country Club in Beacon for many years; and a member of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. He was inducted into the Wappingers Sports Hall of Fame and was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler. He also enjoyed motorcycling. Mr. Mucci served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. Born April 25, 1928 in Wappingers Falls, he was the son of the late Donato and Nancy Chiulli Mucci. He attended Wappingers Central Schools, St. Mary's School and Columbia University. He received his B.S. Degree from Cortland State College. On April 12, 1952 in St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls, he married Josephine A. Sidote. Mrs. Mucci survives at home. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his sons, David A. Mucci and his wife, Janey of Wallkill; Alan J. Mucci and his wife, Diane of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren, Steven, Cynthia, Matthew and Anthony; and his brother, Patrick Mucci of Albany. He was predeceased by his sisters, Anna Mucci, Eleanor Pietropolo and Dolly Mucci and his brothers, Jerry, Sam and Dominic Mucci. Calling hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Thursday, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls. Brothers, Ladies and Friends,
Nick Garnot passed away yesterday. He had been ill for some time. I'm quite sure all of you included in this letter knew Nick if not by name but by serving as a waiter at the club. He would average volunteering 35-40 affairs per year. Until he got sick, he would waiter every event the club hosted with the exception of a couple of week period during the summer when he would go fishing with his son. He would always help with the Christmas Baskets, Bowl for vocations, and invest in many other of our programs over the years. He also volunteered much of his time at Mt. Alvernia.
Nick was a fixture at the Wappingers Knights of Columbus for 58 years (Honorary Life) and was a Charter Member of our Assembly.

Nicholas M. Garnot
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Nicholas M. Garnot, 84, of Wappingers Falls, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Mr. Garnot was head custodian for Vassar Road School of the Wappingers Central School District and then he worked for St. Mary's School. He retired after 55 years of service. He was a member of the Wappingers Assembly #0770, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, S.W. Johnson Eng. Co. #2 and a member of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. He was a volunteer at Mt. Alvernia Seminary in Wappingers Falls. Mr. Garnot served in the U.S. Army, 38th Infantry Division and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronx Star. Born May 6, 1923, in Wappingers Falls, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna Contelmo Garnot. On June 15, 1947 in Beacon, he married Margaret Sylvester Garnot. Mrs. Garnot survives at home. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his sons, Vincent A. Garnot and his wife, Paula of Pleasant Valley; David Garnot and his wife, Alison of Hopewell Junction; his daughter, Bernadette D'Orzio and her husband, Philip of Marlboro; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
